Carl Lewis below ,was born in Birmingham, Alabama, but grew up in Willingboro, New jersey. he is 6'3" 195lbs, went to The University of Houston. In 1982, 1983 and 1984 he was named World Athlete, as well as Athlete of the Decade for the 80's, Olympic Athlete of the Century .

Jesse Owens above, born in 1913 in Alabama, family move to Cleveland, Ohio, went to East Technical High School where he tied the world record in the 100-yard dash at 9.4. Went to Ohio State-U. 1936 Olympic, first American to win 4-gold medals.

Jackie Joyner right, high school all american in basketball and track. Set a college record of 22-11 in the long jump. NCAA pentathlon champion in 1982-1983. In the 1988 Olympics, she won gold medals in the long jump and heptathlon. 1987, was named female athlete of the year. 1996 Olympic, won 6-medals. Feb 2001 retired from sport.
